St.Petersburg Palaces  International Music Festival, founded in the early 1990th, is now considered one of the most significant cultural events of the European capital of Russia – St.Petersburg, - beautiful “city of palaces” full of the imperial greatness. The Festival not only revives music and cultural-historical traditions of the past, but also popularizes high art which has always been St.Petersburg dominant.

Famous St.Petersburg violinist, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation Maria Safariants heads the Festival. She confirms status of St.Petersburg as the cultural capital of Russia by all her projects.

For every Festival Maria Safariants prepares something like discovery. At one moment she rescues from oblivion the music masterpieces, at another she changes  a star path on the music sky, and that  star comes to St.Petersburg at the height of white nights, or she presents a young gifted musician, unfamiliar to the public so far, whose talent is to conquer the music Olympus.

Maria Safariants feels it her duty to cultivate love for classical music heritage: «Classics should predominate here in St.Petersburg. Besides, for dwellers and guests of our city this beautiful festive occasion is a rare opportunity of listening to the ever-living music performed by great masters».

St.Petersburg Palaces  International Music Festival  is the unique holiday of «classics among classics». It has been a trademark of the great city for a long time.

The Festival has his own rich history and purely St.Petersburg exclusive idea.

During the years of the Festival, various famous artists have performed in its projects. List of the great artists - participants of the Festival - includes world opera stars, such as Renee Fleming, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Nikolai Gedda, Irina Arkhipova, Elena Obraztsova, Anna Netrebko, Ewa Podles, Sondra Radwanovsky, Luciana D'Intino, pianist  Krzysztof Jablonski, cellist Alexander Rudin, clarinetist Giampiero Sobrino, prominent conductors Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Salius Sondeckis and many others.

St. Petersburg Palaces Festival opens for the audience not only the famous palace halls, which have already become well-known prestigious concert stages, but also the palaces-museums re-opened recently after a renovation.
